Safe Travel Prayers for the Holiday

Merry Christmas!

Here are Christmas travel prayers I have adapted from the work of Rev. Chris Chenoweth.

For Car Travel

" Whither shall I go from Thy Spirit? Or whither shall I flee from Thy Presence?" Psalms 139:7

Dear God,
Thank you for being with me as I drive (or ride as a passenger) in Your car. This car and all of its occupants are protected by Your Presence. This car and all of its equipment are under Your divine management. There is an atmosphere of safety and protection surrounding this vehicle and all the travel within it.

I affirm that all who cross my path in this travel today will be alive, alert, awake, and sober. I feel safe, and I am at peace.

The light of God surrounds this car;
The love of God surrounds this car;
The power of God protects this car;
The presence of God watches over my journey.
Wherever I am, God is!
Amen.

For Air Travel

"If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; even there shall God's hand lead me, and God's right hand shall hold me." Psalms 1139:9

This airplane is God's spiritual idea upheld by God's Omnipotent love. God has given the angels charge over me to keep me in all of my ways. God is the co-pilot of this plane. This plane is safe. Underneath are the everlasting arms.

God controls and directs all things necessary for this flight: the weather, the instruments, the mechanical equipment, the radar, the flight crew. I fly only with well-meaning people who have agreed in consciousness that we fly on God's airline.

Dear God,
You are the Master of all things that fly as you are the Master of my life. I am safe and secure in Your presence. All things regarding my travel plans are in divine order. You go before me and make the way for me, my luggage, and my companions. I focus on my safe and timely arrival at my designation and declare it now complete.

Thank you, God!

And so it is, and so we let it be.

Happy Holidays,

Robin
