Dear Unity Friends, This last Saturday, I had the privilege to officiate
a memorial for a family member of one of our congregants. In the process of writing that memorial, I was reminded of the power of living life for the joy of it. So often we think, "I'll be happy
when…," "I'll do things differently when…," "I'll be grateful when …." Yet those people whom we remember the most as being an example of living a full life, of being successful in
work and relationships are not putting qualifiers on their happiness. They are alive today and happy to be here, grateful to be of service, and appreciative to be in the cycle of giving and receiving. We take for granted that there is always tomorrow. If tomorrow didn't come, would you be satisfied with
your today? Did you have an attitude today that blessed others? Did you encourage someone else who was having a rough time? Did you expand your mind and learn something new today?
At UIC, we are in the middle of a prosperity series. Prosperity is about so much more than money. It is
a way of thinking – a prosperous attitude – that results in a way of life – a prosperous life.
The man whose memorial I officiated had recently written words of encouragement to his sister. He said, "Enjoy Life.
It is great, even when it is not so good. Listen to the birds. Smell the flowers. Know you are blessed." As we get into a prosperous consciousness
, an abundance of good things comes to us, filling our lives so that it runneth over with plenty to share and to spare. Today, don't postpone your happiness. With a grateful heart, allow life to live through you in magnificent ways.Namaste`
