Dear Unity Friends, We often strive to develop a relationship with God in order to
change circumstances, people, or situations in our lives. Is this not just polishing the veneer of our lives? A more fulfilling purpose is not to change outer appearances, but to embrace and enrichen our
inner condition. The stuff of the outer world will come and go. The trick is finding inner peace no matter what is happening in the outer. If your prayers shifted in focus from an outer change to an inner experience, what would that feel like? As
I ponder this question, the song, "All is well with my soul" echos in my head. Jesus taught us to pray
affirming, "I and the Father are one." Today, focus on that Truth. "I and the Father are one." Feel the peace and serenity that comes from experiencing an awareness of Oneness with God.
As we take the time to practice that connection with Spirit, we deepen our understanding of our own spiritual nature. As a result of greater understanding of ourselves, we think, speak, and act from a more
spiritually guided perspective. We ultimately find that those challenging outer conditions change or shift
some way, or maybe they just look different from this higher perspective. Either way, peace and joy are the result. And isn't that a blessing worth accepting? Blessings, Rev. Robin |
