Songwriter-performer, Karen Taylor Good, wrote a song entitled Perfect Work of Art. The words say this:
Oh the sculptor Michelangelo was asked how he got in the flow and made the lovely David from a giant block of stone. He said, "Well he was in there waitin', my job was simply excavatin'. I just took
away what did not belong." We may not be a finished masterpiece, yet inside we are a complete and holy Child of God. Miracles
manifest in our lives when we get in touch with that Divine Perfection in ourselves and accept ourselves as a part of God.
We all need God in our lives and we must also know that God needs us. We are an extension of the perfection that is our Creator. Through the relationships we have with others, with God, and with
ourselves, God experiences all that we experience. We are vehicles through which God is able to express all the divine qualities that are God. As we accept the responsibility for being in partnership and
companionship with God, that perfection finds expression in us, through us, and as us.
Author Alan Cohen writes in his book, A Deep Breath of Life
, "If you open your consciousness, the Universe will rush to show you what is truly there." It is that consciousness that is within you and that rushes to express itself through you and through
Unity in Community. It drew you here and is forming this group of love-centered, like-minded metaphysicians.
Karen goes on to sing,
I know somewhere not so deep inside of me lives that perfect soul that I was meant to be. Let me be the way I was
created. Let me find a pure and simple heart. I'll chip away all jealousy and hatred and reveal God's perfect work of art.
I celebrate the perfect work of art that you are.
Namaste`
