is a phrase used often in Unity and other spiritual circles. Some folks
may think it is over used. For me, it rings with the sound of security, safety, and hope. I love The Daily Word messages on Let Go - Let God and can sit for long periods reading
and re-reading them, allowing them to soothe and comfort me in times of change or uncertainty. Just a few days ago, the trees in Central Ohio were ablaze with their brilliant fall colors,
proudly displaying their beauty for all to behold. Now, after strong winds have blasted the area, the trees stand barren, ready for winter's assault. They remind me of the season of "letting go."
Robert Brumet writes in his book, Finding Yourself In Transition: "Each season of our life is to be honored. These times can teach us much if we will listen. Yet we in the West
have a fear of the season of emptiness: we don't trust it; we try to fill it with something or seek to find a distraction... Rarely do we think of each new season as a time of letting
go, yet letting go is an essential step in re-creation; it is a vital part of any creative process...Creation begins with emptiness. It is from emptiness that new life emerges."
This week, amid the blustery blows of the pre-winter winds, take time to experience the silence. Only when we can empty ourselves can we be
filled to overflowing. Take some quiet time to sit alone and reflect on where your life is and where you are going. Trust the stillness. Embrace
the silence. Ask God to reveal to you the next step on this wonderful journey called "life."
AFFIRMATION
I let go and I let God.
SCRIPTURE
"
Do not worry about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication
with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God."
