When co-founder, Charles
Fillmore, was seeking to understand the Truth teachings of his era, he became confused and disturbed by the conflicting statements made by the various teachers. "The muddle was so deep," he
wrote, "that for a time I was inclined to ridicule, yet I couldn't get away from the evidence of a great power back of the flood of contradictory statements. In this babel, I will go to headquarters.
If I am Spirit and this God they talk so much about is Spirit, we can somehow communicate, or the whole thing is a fraud." [The Story of Unity, by James Dillet Freeman]
I love this example of Charles' foresight to find his own answers to the
questions he had regarding his spiritual path. Rather than owning someone else's opinion and being "spoon-fed" Truth, Charles found all the answers he
sought through his own intimate and personal connection to God. This relationship with God was very important to Charles. He gave it priority. He
gave it his time. He was committed to staying connected to Source.
When we need direction and clarity, let us, too, go to headquarters! We
each have a direct connection to the divine wisdom of God through the Christ Spirit within. We can trust this inspiration from our inner Source, and it is
available seven days a week, 24 hours a day, with or without insurance coverage, with no co-pay or restrictions involved.
Affirmation for the week –
I turn to the Christ for direction and clarity in my life.
This week's Action Step – Take at least five minutes today to sit in the silence and listen for guidance from the Christ within.
Namaste`
