Rev. Robin Volker We have made the commitment. Now what do we desire to change in the key
areas of our lives? We have identified these areas as health, wealth, relationships, our work in the world, and our spiritual walk. This week, we step
on the spiritual stepping stone of Vision.
Proverbs 29:18 reminds us that "Where there is no vision, the people perish." With vision, we expand, we grow, we thrive. And this process is exactly what
God intends for us to do in this life experience on Earth. We are to be evolving constantly, which expands life itself.
As we stretch to fresh horizons, strive for new ideals, and stretch for new challenges, we feel more and more of Life Energy moving in and through us.
Those butterflies in our stomach, the sweaty palms, and the rapid heartbeat are all evidence that we alive with God-life moving through us.
Many people are afraid to want more of life. "Is it God's will for me to have more?" Dr. Emilie Cady, a pioneer in New Thought thinking, wrote
at the turn of the 20th century, "Desire is God tapping at the door of your mind, trying to give you greater good." God is "ex-pressing" out of all
physical and material manifestation. You and I are "ex-pressing" out the living dynamics of Spirit as we live, love, and serve.
In order for the inner vision for our lives to come forth, we are being called to step outside of our comfort zones, to step beyond the barriers of
self-limiting thoughts and beliefs, to lower the level of anxiety for change in our lives. In order to capture this new vision of God's abundance in
our lives, we are being called to stretch, to evolve, to risk.
It is in the quiet of still meditation that God speaks to us and shows us our inner vision. Only in the sacredness of a calm God-moment do we
catch a glimpse of who and what we are in the mind of God. You see, in God we are already the vision. It is already done, complete. We
are the ones who are holding ourselves separate and apart by seeing ourselves through our human lenses instead of seeing the inner vision. So these are the questions to ponder this week are:
What is the highest vision or perfect idea for my health, wealth, relationships, work, and spiritual walk? Who and what must I become to empower this vision?
How do I open to allow this vision to come through me? True abundance is experiencing our personal greatness, experiencing our innate goodness, and experiencing our infinite potential. It is time to
stop holding back. It is time to create the vision and "Expect the Good!"
