I have just returned from ten days at Unity Village. On this trip, I was invited to learn more about Silent
Unity and Daily Word Publications. I thought I would share some jewels of knowledge with you. This
week, I write about Daily Word. In future inspirational e-letters, I will tell you more about Silent Unity and Daily Word's Message of Hope.
Daily Word was first published in July, 1924, with a subscriber list of 16,000. A year later, the
subscription list had grown to 43,000. Daily Word has been featuring daily devotional readings,
inspirational articles, and spiritually enriching poetry ever since. Today, Daily Word is mailed to over 600,000 subscribers in 150 countries.
The first editor of Daily Word was Frank B. Whitney. He single-handedly wrote many of those first inspirations. Today, a team of about 12 anonymous writers contribute to each Daily Word. Did you
ever wonder why the inspirations are anonymous? The writers write in first person so that the reader
can take personal ownership of the words. This is unique in the inspirational world as many inspirational messages are written in second person, "you-directed" format.
Daily Word is printed in seven languages. These are Afrikaans, Dutch, English, French, German,
Portuguese, and Spanish. There are 19 foreign editions. Many of these world-wide partners are
performing acts of devotion to God with their work for Daily Word. In Nigeria, for example, the magazine
is hand-produced on a copy machine. It is hand-cut, stapled together, and then bundled. A runner
takes it to the next station where it is divided again, and fresh runners take it on to other destinations where it is distributed to readers. In Guyana,
over 500 youth are participating in Youth of Unity services. You may ask, "Why there are so many?" It is because the Daily Word
is hand-produce there as well, and women of the village volunteer to help with this ongoing project. They bring their children, many of whom grow up reading the inspirational messages inside the little booklet. Out of that act of service has emerged a strong
and vibrant Youth of Unity chapter. The spread of Daily Word around the world is a living example that consciousness cannot be contained. It grows and multiples.

We are grateful to the many workers of Daily Word around the world who keep the Unity message alive and well. It is
an affirmative, positive, progressive message that is so needed in today's world.
At Unity in Community, at our headquarters at Unity Village, and around the world, we are grateful for our many friends who are walking this
path of Truth with us, rejoicing daily in the abundance of God's Goodness in our lives. In loving service, Rev. Robin |
