By Robin Volker There are subtle laws in the Universe that we call spiritual laws. Like their counterpart,
physical laws, they are precise, dependable, and applicable to everyone. One law that has become pretty popular of late is the Law of Circulation. It is closely related to the
Law of Cause and Effect. The Law of Circulation states that all the energy in the Universe is moving in a circular fashion through all life. As we give out, so we receive. If we would
like to increase the flow of positive substance into our lives, we give out positive substance. When we withhold energy or substance, we create negative circulation, and
the energy backs up and can have a negative effect in our lives. It is important to keep all energy of life moving through our lives. This includes moving
our things, moving our money, and moving our message. We often move our things when we give away our excess, when we clean out our closets, or release items that
represent a past part of our lives. All of these activities create a vacuum in our lives, which opens the pathway for the Universe (God) to fill the void with something new.
It is important to treat our money with honor and respect, for it is Holy Spirit in Action. When we spend it and circulate it, we do so on
purpose and with deliberate intent to support activities that bless our lives. We joyously pay our electric bill for the use of electricity. We
circulate our money to the grocer who conveniently provides the food our family needs. We give back to the channels that provide our spiritual nourishment, knowing that our monetary
gift insures that these channels remain open to us and others who are seeking enlightenment and support. An area that is often forgotten is the circulation of our message. We often do not think of how our lives impact
others. Our behavior, our choices, our language, and our responses to life events are our message to the world. Unity teachings are inwardly focused: our idea of God is an inner experience. Just because we walk a more
inwardly focused path does not mean that we don't have a message to share. We can share that message in
gentle, non-proselytizing ways by giving away a Daily Word Magazine, by inviting someone to our spiritual center,
and by connecting them with internet sources such as this website. People are learning about life through "the
school of hard knocks." New Thought teachings offer a kinder way to learn how to overcome failure, to understand prosperity, to deal with pain and sorrow, to learn patience and compassion, to heal
sickness, and to deny disappointment.
The invitation this week is to practice the Law of Circulation by moving something that no longer serves you to
someone who can enjoy it, by blessing your money as it flows to pay for things that enrich your life, and to
circulate your message by sharing a little about Unity with someone who might be searching for a new spiritual practice.
By practicing the Law of Circulation, your life will be an active, moving, and creative demonstration of God's goodness and abundance. Namaste` Rev. Robin
